Dr Saurabh Sethi, a Harvard University graduate and a gastrointestinal specialist, has shared a simple tip he claims may knock years off your appearance. Speaking to his 505,000 TikTok fans,

Dr Sethi recommended adding a slice of lemon to your daily water intake, claiming this could erase telltale signs of ageing. In his advice, the 42-year-old doctor suggested that

consistently drinking lemon-infused water for a period of one month could be a natural youth potion. He said that lemons contain a wealth of beneficial plant compounds. He said: "Lemons

are packed with 30 different beneficial plant compounds." He added: "Freshly squeezed lemon juice is the best, as it has not gone through pasteurisation so it retains more

nutrients." He further explained that due to their natural acidity, lemons enhance mineral absorption, notably iron. Adding to its impressive profile, he continued: "They are also

a great source of vitamin C, which supports collagen production, and is essential for healthy skin, joints and connective tissue." While lemon water isn't a limitless fountain of

youth, it can contribute to a healthier, more radiant complexion that may make you look younger. According to the Mirror, it's believed to boost collagen production, reduce free radical

damage, and support liver function, all of which are beneficial for skin health. The Chennai Liver Foundation has suggested that lemon water could aid in cleansing the liver, thereby

improving skin health and detoxification. A well-functioning liver can more effectively remove toxins that may lead to skin issues. If you struggle to hydrate throughout the day, adding a

dash of lemon to water might help you enjoy the drink a little more, encouraging you to meet your goals. The NHS advises drinking 6-8 glasses of fluid, ideally water, a day. According to the

doctor, incorporating lemon into your diet is straightforward—just squeeze an entire lemon into a glass of water each day. And it doesn't have to cost much. Aldi offers

'wonky' lemons at 79p for a pack of four, making it less than 20p per lemon. IS LEMON SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE? Most people can safely enjoy lemon in moderation, but some may suffer

from allergies or adverse effects. Dr Sethi warned those with acid reflux in his video, stating: "Lemon water might actually make your symptoms worse because it is an acid so best to

avoid having it daily, or only use a small amount." The high acidity of lemons can also erode tooth enamel over time, particularly if they are in your diet regularly, leading to

sensitivity and damage. You can eat lemons with other foods to reduce side effects, according to Web MD. If you have any worries about drinking lemon water, particularly if you have

pre-existing health conditions, it's best to seek advice from a medical professional.
