EVERTON ARE ABOUT TO EMBARK UPON A NEW ERA AS THEY LEAVE GOODISON PARK AT THE END OF THE SEASON, WITH THE CLUB'S NEW OWNERS IMPLEMENTING CHANGES IN THE BOARDROOM AS WELL 16:47, 07 Mar

2025Updated 16:47, 07 Mar 2025 Angus Kinnear is leaving Leeds after eight years to become Everton's new CEO. Kinnear will replace Colin Chong at Everton on June 1 and oversee the club’s

move to their new 52,888-Everton Stadium home by the river Mersey. Kinnear, who has also worked at Arsenal and West Ham, is the first major boardroom appointment by the Blues' American

owners, The Friedkin Group. Everton’s executive chairman Marc Watts said: “Angus is one of England’s leading football executives and brings a wealth of relevant experience. His appointment

means Everton will go into the summer with a first-class leader.” Colin Chong, who will remain with the club to oversee the stadium change said: “It has been an honour to serve as Everton’s

CEO and to shepherd the Club through challenging times and into a bright new future under The Friedkin Group. I look forward to taking on this new role focusing on our new home and, just as

importantly, the regeneration of the area around it.” Peter McCormick is being appointed as executive vice-chairman to replace Kinnear at Leeds. READ MORE: Romelu Lukaku slams way Chelsea

Director of football Kevin Thelwell will also leave Everton when his contract expires at the end of the season and TFG want to have a wider sporting leadership team. A statement from the

club has revealed that plans are already being put in motion for the summer window, with returning boss David Moyes at the centre of them. Watts continued: “Kevin has been integral in

ensuring Premier League survival in this difficult period. By resolving PSR issues through significant player trading we believe we have an extraordinary squad that can be the foundation for

future success. "This future success will also be supported by our talented sporting department assembled by Kevin. We are pleased Kevin will remain with us in this interim

period." Thelwell said: “I am extremely proud of what we have achieved in the most challenging of circumstances over the past three years and believe I’ll leave the Club in a much

stronger position than when I joined in 2022. "It has been a privilege to work for Everton Football Club and I would like to thank the players, staff and of course the fans for their

fantastic support during my time here. I also look forward to seeing the Club progress on and off the pitch in the years to come under the stewardship of TFG.” While changes continue off the

pitch, it is the form on it which has transformed the mood on the blue half of Merseyside. After inheriting a side mired in relegation trouble, Moyes has overseen a run of form which has

included an unbeaten run of seven matches, pulling them 15 points clear of the bottom three. The Toffees face 17th-placed Wolves on Saturday, with Moyes admitting even he is a little

surprised at the upturn in form. “I think they have (surprised me)," he said of his players. “I think they probably surprised all the people in this room as well, how well they have

done over recent weeks, and probably surprised most of the Evertonians who have come to the games. Article continues below “I think now we are seeing players who are certainly stepping up to

better levels. We’ve showed a little bit of consistency. I think the bit now is can you go further, what you’re going to do next, how can we keep it going, and I’m just talking about little

bits of progress every week." Join our new WhatsApp community _and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content. We also treat our community members to special offers,
