One of these vile men carried out an act described as "every parents' worse nightmare". The vile individuals have all appeared in court in recent months, where they've
admitted or been found guilty of sex offences where the victims are innocent children. Some have targeted children, seeking them out online, while others have downloaded countless images of
child sexual abuse or breached the orders put in place to protect the public. One paedophile grabbed a young victim and dragged them into some bushes where he exposed himself. Another was
found to have downloaded thousands of indecent images of children. Below are 13 defendants every parent will want to be aware of. THOMAS HOLROYD This depraved paedophile was found in
possession of a horrific image of child sexual abuse - which was described as "one of the worst" images a police analyst has seen. Holroyd was locked up for more than three years
for a string of offences including possession of over 200 indecent images of children, affray and breaching a sexual harm prevention order. Teesside Crown Court heard how one image, which
was found in Holroyd's possession last year, depicted abuse of a child "no older than one month old". Holroyd was first convicted of being in possession of indecent images of
children in 2017 and has breached his sexual harm prevention order eight times - four of which he appeared in court charged with in March. Holroyd, of Hartington Road, Stockton, admitted
four counts of possession of indecent images of children - three of these offences date back to 2022; affray; possession of an offensive weapon in private; possession of cannabis; and four
breaches to a sexual harm prevention order - dating from September to December 2024. He was jailed for 40 months. Read the full story here. WAYNE DUGGAN The sick pervert dragged a child into
a bush and exposed himself before carrying out a sexual assault. The child of primary school age was out playing in an area of Teesside when the 40-year-old pulled them away and made them
sit on his knee. He then forced them to lie on their back on the ground. He was later caught after his DNA was found on the victim's clothing. Duggan claimed he accidentally urinated on
the youngster, after they grabbed his leg whilst he relieved himself in bushes. However, a judge at Teesside Crown Court said it was impossible to know if it was urine or semen. Duggan, of
Marton Road in Grove Hill, Middlesbrough, initially denied sexual assault of a child. He admitted the offence minutes before his trial was due to start. Judge Geoffrey Marson jailed Duggan
for five years, and said that the case is "every parents' worst nightmare". Read the full story here. BRANDON SIMPSON The 24-year-old pervert amassed a horrific collection of
child abuse material and an image of a horse being abused. Simpson watched the illegal videos, some showing children as young as 12 months old. Posing under the username "Mama's
Boy" on messaging app Telegram, Simpson exchanged messages, asking another user if he had any of the paedophilic material for him. Police turned up at Simpson's home, where he
lives with his grandparents, on October 16 last year, after receiving intelligence that Simpson had the illegal material. The defendant, of Westbourne Road, Linthorpe, Middlesbrough, later
pleaded guilty to making indecent images and the possession of a prohibited image. Between November 2022 and May 2024, he had amassed 115 category A images and videos, 34 category B images
and videos, 33 category C images and videos and the possession of a prohibited image. Simpson left court with a 14-month prison term, suspended for two years. Read the full story here. KARL
MARPER The pervert was caught with an undeclared laptop - after police turned up at a Hartlepool hotel he was living at. The 56-year-old sat on top of his device, on the bed, in an effort to
hide it. He is banned from owning any online device unless he has given the police details of it under the terms of a lifelong sexual harm prevention order, imposed in 2020. Marper was
arrested in his room at the Douglas Hotel on March 11. He had searched for child sex abuse online, although there was no illegal material found on his laptop. Marper had repeatedly looked
for "boys sex." He pleaded guilty to the breach of a sexual harm prevention order at the Magistrates' Court in March. He has numerous convictions for the possession and
distribution of indecent images of children. He was jailed for 28-months and will serve half of his sentence, before being released on licence. Read the full story here. PAUL EVANS The
convicted paedophile indecently assaulted a girl over 30 years ago. Evans, 56, was in his twenties when he told the teen that he was having a party at a house in Middlesbrough. He picked up
the girl and Evans made phone calls on the journey, talking as though he was inviting other people. But there were no other guests at the house; and the girl was effectively trapped there,
with no means of getting home. Teesside Crown Court heard the victim suspects Evans spiked her drinks, because she passed out. She later woke up to find him indecently assaulting her. Evans,
formerly of Forest Drive in Ormesby, but now of no fixed address, was found guilty of indecent assault after standing trial. Evans was handed a 10-year extended sentence, made up of nine
years in custody and one year on licence in the community. Read the full story here. IAN PAWLETT A paedophile downloaded hours of footage showing children being raped and sexually abused.
The victims of sexual abuse in the images and films that Pawlett, of Locomotive Street in Darlington, stored on his computer, were aged between six and 15. The court heard how the
21-year-old watched 102 videos showing the most serious level of children being sexually abused. The police turned up at Pawlett's address, where he lives with his parents, on March 9,
2023. His computer tower and hard drive were seized. IT investigators found: 296 category A images; 102 category A videos, which amounted to 45.5 hours in length; 688 category B images; 54
category B videos, lasting over five hours in total; 9,500 category C images; six category C videos; and 3757 images and 11 further videos were inaccessible to police investigators. Pawlett
walked out of court with a 16-month prison term, suspended for two-years. Read the full story here. TONY O'NEILL The disgraced pharmacist attempted to meet a '14-year-old boy'
after days of messaging on Snapchat. Tony O'Neill sent sexual messages to who he thought was a 14-year-old boy and told officers after his arrest that he felt a "thrill from
knowing he still had it". But the 45-year-old was actually speaking to a Cleveland Police decoy and was arrested at his place of work. O'Neill, who has no previous convictions,
admitted one count of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and one of attempting to meet a boy under 16 years of age following grooming. Judge Jonathan Carroll handed
O'Neill, of Hoskins Lane, Marton, Middlesbrough, a 12 month sentence suspended for two years. Read the full story here. JAMES MILTON The convicted sex offender was locked up for
breaching a court order by deleting apps like Snapchat and Discord. James Milton was handed a one-year prison term after he admitted three counts of breaching a sexual harm prevention order
(SHPO) and one of failing to comply with notification requirements by failing to register aliases. The SHPO was put in place originally after he was convicted of a number of offences
including relating to indecent images of children. Milton, of Arthur Terrace, New Marske, was jailed for a total of one year. Read the full story here. DANIEL PINKNEY The intoxicated pervert
messaged an underage girl asking for pictures and sent her an 'aubergine emoji' on Facebook. Pinkney, of no fixed abode, was jailed for 10 months after admitting engaging in
sexual communications with a child on the day of his trial. Teesside Crown Court heard how the 33-year-old had messaged a teenage girl on Facebook during an evening of boozing and
'sexting'. Pinkney, who appeared in court via a video call from prison, had denied the offence of engaging in sexual communications with a child but admitted his guilt at the
"doors of the court" on the day of trial. Recorder Marco Giuliani said: "You were extremely drunk, being extremely drunk may explain what you did but it is not an
excuse." Read the full story here. MICHAEL CALLAGHAN The monk was found guilty of 13 sex offences by a jury at Teesside Crown Court. Callaghan, known as Father James, sexually abused
two pupils at Catholic boarding school, Ampleforth College, whilst he was working as a housemaster there. Twelve of the indecent assault charges relate to a victim who was repeatedly abused
in the 1990's. The 13th charge - one of sexual assault - happened to a second victim. Callaghan, 71, now of Harrogate Road, Moortown, in Leeds, will be sentenced on June 19 to give time
for probation to write a report on him. Read the full story here. ANDREW FORD The Stockton pervert was arrested at his partner's house after he lured "a schoolgirl" into a
sexually explicit online chat. The 47-year-old went into a chatroom for 13 to 19 year olds - and pretended he was 18. He began talking to "Ava" who told him she was 12, and asked
if "that was ok?" Ford replied that that "was fine" before asking for a photo of the girl. Teesside Crown Court has heard that an undercover police officer was posing as
"Ava", to tackle online child sex abuse. "Ava" sent Ford a photo of herself - showing a girl with brown, curly hair, sitting on a sofa. Ford replied with an explicit
photo of himself. He later pleaded guilty to sending a photo of his genitals to cause alarm or distress; attempting to incite a child into sexual activity; and attempting to engage in sexual
communication with a child. Ford, of Skinner Street in Stockton, was jailed for 45 months. Read the full story here. JAMIE-LEE TAYLOR The 21-year-old sex offender is behind bars after being
found guilty of a number of offences against teenagers, including five counts of rape. Taylor was also convicted of attempted rape and causing or inciting sexual activity with two teenage
boys. The pervert committed two offences of sexual activity with a child when he contacted victims in the Cleveland area on social media before travelling to meet them on separate occasions
in a hotel in 2023. He also committed multiple offences of rape, attempted rape and inciting a child to commit sexual activity in the Cumbria area. Taylor, of Skidore View in Penrith,
Cumbria, was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison at Cumbria Crown Court in April. Read the full story here. BRIAN PEARCE The pervert was sentenced for sexual activity in the presence
of a child. The abuse happened when he was in Ryedale, North Yorkshire, more than a decade ago. The 76-year-old was finally brought to justice thanks to the courage of the victim and her
family after they came forward to report it. The victim's mother, who cannot be named to protect the anonymity of her daughter, addressed Pearce directly in a victim impact statement
presented to York Crown Court. She said that hearing details of what he had done made her feel "physically sick to the pit of my stomach", adding: "Brian, you made a conscious
decision, that decision has destroyed and damaged innumerable lives." Pearce, who now lives in Northampton, pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and
was jailed for two years and ten months on Friday, April 17. FOR DAILY NEWS FROM TEESSIDE'S COURTS DIRECT TO YOUR INBOX, GO HERE TO SIGN UP TO OUR FREE COURT NEWSLETTER JOIN TEESSIDE
