IT IS BELIEVED THE ALMOST 300 RINGS, NECKLACES, EARRINGS AND WATCHES COME FROM BURGLARIES COMMITTED IN GIRONDE, CHARENTE AND CHARENTE-MARITIME THIS SUMMER Hundreds of pieces of jewellery
have been found at the bottom of a lake in Gironde. Investigators believe they have come from recent burglaries and have launched an appeal on facebook to find their owners. Rings,
necklaces, pendants, earrings, and watches were among the horde found in the Saint-Mariens lake, north of Bordeaux. This week, the Saint-Savin gendarmerie in Gironde launched an appeal in a
bid to find the pieces’ owners. The appeal includes 300 photos of the pieces, which have been lined up against a ruler and labelled to help people identify them. People can also go to the
website www.mes-objets-voles.fr to take a closer look. If you believe that any of the pieces belong to you, you should email [email protected]. The gendarmerie first found the
jewellery in August but have only just released the images. In a statement, it said: “This jewellery comes from burglaries that appear to have been committed in the departments of Gironde,
Charente, and Charente-Maritime this summer.” RELATED ARTICLES HOW TO INSURE AND PROVE VALUE OF EXPENSIVE ITEMS AT YOUR FRENCH HOME JEWEL RAIDERS ARRESTED AFTER 400 BURGLARIES IN FRANCE
