Martinsburg , WV — On Thursday, September 19, 2024, the Martinsburg VAMC partnered with over 40 local employers to host a job fair exclusively for military Veterans. Held from 9 a.m. to 1


p.m. at the Heroes Health and Wellness Center on the Medical Center's campus, the event aimed to connect Veterans with organizations actively seeking new employees. "We had a


diverse mix of employers from various industries, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive," said Anna Slack, Martinsburg VAMC Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. Participating


companies included Proctor and Gamble, Meritus Health, FedEx, Maryland State Police, Rustoleum, and WVU Medicine. Educational institutions like James Rumsey Technical Institute and Blue


Ridge Community and Technical College also attended. Veterans had the chance to network with hiring managers and explore current opportunities. "The VA job fair was a rare opportunity


to connect with Veterans of all skill levels. We were impressed with the turnout," said Tiffany Stark, Talent Acquisition Specialist at Meritus Health. The event drew 146 Veterans.


"The turnout of employers was excellent. I found a lot of good opportunities," said Navy Veteran Jeremy Tow.
