PROGRAM STRUCTURE The Carl Vinson VAMC offers an organized, accredited postgraduate year one (PGY1), 12-month pharmacy residency program. PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of


Pharmacy (PharmD) education to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists. After completion, the clinical pharmacist gains experience in the medication-related care of patients


with a wide range of conditions, gains eligibility for board certification and eligibility for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training. The purpose of this PGY1 Pharmacy


Residency Program is to train residents how to provide pharmaceutical care to ambulatory care/primary care/acute care and geriatric patients, participate as a member of the interdisciplinary


health care team, and provide education to patients, pharmacy staff/students and other health professionals. The program consists of 8 required rotations and 2 electives. Additionally, the


residents will be required to participate in five longitudinal experiences.  APPLICATION DEADLINE All application materials must be submitted via PhORCAS by January 6, 2025. REQUIRED
