Chillicothe , OH — As healthcare services continue to adapt, the Chillicothe VA works to keep up with the ever-changing landscape of the modern medicine world. We have entered an
age of mobile applications at our fingertips, not only for entertainment, but to help enrich our lives as well as provide us with services. The Chillicothe VA Medical Center is right on
track with that initiative, as we open our Virtual Health Resource Center (VHRC). The VHRC will provide services like education, training, information sharing, access to
electronic interactivity, and guidance needed by VHA staff, Veterans, and their family members and caregivers to integrate virtual care tools effectively and efficiently into their
respective workflows and lives. The VHRC provides an in-person and virtual resource that educates Veterans on downloading, troubleshooting, and effective utilization of virtual health tools
including VA Video Connect, MyHealtheVet and any other VA Mobile Apps. Veterans Health Education Coordinator, Leah Cooper, alongside Stephen Lupo, Facility TeleHealth
Coordinator, has spear-headed bringing the VHRC to the Chillicothe VA. “We’ve noticed a need within our Veteran community to be able to connect without having to physically come in. The
guidance this resource center provides will do exactly that. Familiarization with these mobile apps, as well as a better understanding of the services at their fingertips is crucial and we
could not be more excited to provide our Veteran community with those tools.” Not only does this provide a brand-new benefit to our Veterans, allowing them to remain connected to
their services, but it is also the first VA Virtual Health Resource Center in the region, which spans across three states. Our Grand Opening for this new initiative will be held on
NOVEMBER 6TH at 11:00 AM. Guest speakers, to include VA leadership, staff, and Veterans will be on hand for the ribbon cutting, as well as a tour of VHRC services inside the URGENT CARE
MAIN ENTRANCE (BUILDING 31) on the Chillicothe VA campus. The VHRC will be open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, excluding holidays. For questions or to reach the
resource center by phone, call 740-773-1141 ext. 14939.
