Ms. Pamela McPhearson - Interim Associate Director for Nursing/Patient Care Services Ms. Pamela McPhearson was appointed as Interim Associate Director of Nursing & Patient Care at the


Atlanta VAHCS in September 2023.  She previously served as Acting Assistant Director, Deputy Associate Director, Nursing and Patient Care Services at the Atlanta VAHCS.  Prior to coming to


Atlanta VAHCS, she served as the Chief Nurse for Geriatrics and Extended Care Services at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia. Ms. McPhearson has held numerous leadership


and nursing roles, some of which include, Chief Nurse, Nurse Manager, Army Chief Nursing Officer, Lead Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Critical Care Nursing Instructor. Ms.


McPhearson has worked in variety of clinical settings such as the ICU (Surgical, Medical, and NICU), Geriatrics, Med-Surg, and Education (Critical Care, Trauma, and, etc.). Ms. McPhearson


graduated with honors, achieving both her Bachelors in Nursing and Masters in Nursing. Her Master of Science in Nursing with a dual degree for Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Critical Care


Clinical Nurse Specialist, was awarded from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing was awarded from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical


University. Ms. McPhearson retired in 2014, from serving active duty in the Army for over 20 years as a Critical Care Nursing Officer.
