Profile Articles Activity I'm a Lecturer in Global Public Health at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. At QMUL I teach Introduction
to Politics and Global Health (1st year undergraduate), International Politics and Global Health (1st year undergraduate) and Public Health International Law and Governance (Masters). I have
taught a variety of undergraduate and masters courses at UCL and Cambridge, including Political Economy of International Development, Political Economy of Capitalism, Introduction to
Sociology and Advanced Qualitative Methods. My research has three substantive strands. My PhD research concentrated on violent conflict between the state and marginal communities in India.
During my graduate studies I developed a parallel interest in the political, social and economic determinants of public health, again with a focus on India. In recent years my research has
combined these two interests, concentrating on how violent political conflict affects public health. I have expanded the geographical focus of my research to encompass South Asia, the Middle
East and Africa. I utilize a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods – including in-depth interviews, comparative historical methods and statistical analysis. Political economy of
