Adam lambert addresses “on with the show” as “want” heads to itunes

“Want,” the first single off a pre-_Idol_ collection of songs sung by Adam Lambert titled _On With the Show_, will be available on iTunes starting tomorrow, June 23rd. _On With The Show_,

which is due out later this summer — before Lambert’s official debut on 19 Recordings via RCA — features 11 tracks Lambert recorded during his three-year partnership with producer Malcolm

Welsford and Wilshire Records, who will release the disc. A press release boasts that eight of the 11 songs on _On With The Show_ were co-written by Lambert, and that the album features

“recent tracks” recorded “over the course of 2007/2008, right before Lambert’s meteoric rise to prominence.” However, in a statement Lambert issued this weekend after “Want” hit the

Internet, the _Idol_ runner-up was quick to explain that — despite Wilshire’s claims — some of the recordings date back four years ago, and the songs don’t feature his songwriting. “Back in

2005, when I was a struggling artist, I was hired as a studio singer to lend my vocals to tracks written by someone else. I was broke at the time and this was my chance to make a few bucks,

so I jumped at the opportunity to record for my first time in a professional studio,” Lambert said in the statement. “The work I did back then in no way reflects the music I am currently in

the studio working on. I’m thrilled to be working with some of today’s hottest songwriters and producers and can’t wait for people to hear what my music really sounds like.” As Rock Daily

Show_ and his fall debut disc might not be the only Glambert-related releases on the horizon: According to the Wilshire press release, the indie label has “two albums’ worth of material

[Lambert] recorded.” According to MTV, neither Lambert nor _Idol_‘s 19 Recordings are expected to take any legal action to prevent _On With The Show_‘s release. As for what fans can expect
