Todd Chrisley addressed whether his and wife Julie Chrisley’s early prison release was due to their celebrity status. “I understand it,” the “Chrisley Knows Best” alum said in a press
conference Friday of the public’s concerns, adding that he doesn’t “know if it did or it didn’t” affect their release. He then added, “But what I can tell you, is that I believe in our
President of the United States.” Todd and Julie — who were sentenced to 19 years total for bank fraud and tax evasion in 2022 — were pardoned by President Trump earlier this week. During the
press conference, the couple’s daughter Savannah Chrisley denied paying or sleeping with anyone for the pardon, noting that those were some of the biggest “misconceptions” she had heard. “I
fought hard and I was exhausted, and I begged for meetings. I was never too good to ask,” she said. Todd added that he feels “no shame” because he was “convicted of something [he] did not
do.” “It could be you. Somewhere there has been a family member that has been affected by this system,” he said, noting that he will continue to fight for other prisoners dealing with
“injustices.” Then, in response to a question about whether he has remorse, the reality star said, “I would have remorse for something that I did” and recognized that he had to “either bow
down” or “kiss the ass” of the justice system in order to get a lesser sentence. Although Todd made it clear that he plans to continue fighting for other prisoners, Savannah also reassured
their fans that her father already has several TV projects lined up. Julie was not present at the presser as she chose to stay home instead. EXPLORE MORE President Trump, 78, told the
Chrisley kids via a phone call Tuesday of their parents’ sentencing, “It’s a terrible thing. It’s a terrible thing.” He added, “But it’s a great thing because your parents are gonna be free
and clean, and I hope we can do it by tomorrow. Is that OK? We’ll try getting it done tomorrow.” He concluded, “I don’t know them, but give them my regards and wish them a good life.”
Savannah — who gained custody of her younger siblings amid her parents’ legal woes — gushed Tuesday night, “We are freaking out over here, I have shed so many tears. “The president called me
personally as I walking into Sam’s Club and notified me that he was signing pardon paperwork for both my parents.” Todd, 56, and Julie, 52, were then released from their respective prisons
at Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Fla., and the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Ky., on Wednesday. The couple — who has been married since 1996 but were separated for nearly two
years due to their incarcerations — finally reunited, per a photo Savannah, 27, shared via her Instagram Stories. Julie was then spotted Thursday getting grub at a butcher shop in Nashville
and sporting a new look. Her normally blond hair was a natural shade of brown with her gray roots on full display. Savannah shared via social media that her dad went through his own physical
transformation as well. STAY ONE STEP AHEAD WITH ALL THE EXCLUSIVE TEA ON YOUR FAVORITE REALITY TV STARS! Sign up for Virtual Reali-Tea with Danny and Evan, our must-read newsletter! THANK

she was “tone-deaf” about her “privileged life” before her parents went to prison.
