THE CUSTOMER SHARED THEIR FAVOURITE TESCO MEAL DEAL IN A POST ONLINE, AND THEY WERE LEFT QUESTIONING THEIR CHOICES AFTER THE APP TOLD THEM HOW RARE THEIR COMBINATION WAS RAHIMA MIAH Social
News Reporter 11:30, 09 Jan 2025Updated 12:12, 09 Jan 2025 A Tesco customer was left baffled upon discovering that out of all the meal deals possible in 2024, not a single person had chosen
their favourite combination. Diving into '2024 Unpacked' on the Tesco app — which reveals a user's shopping trends at the retailer, including most frequently purchased meal
deal items — the individual discovered an intriguing fact about their preferred pairing. Taking to Reddit to express their astonishment, they disclosed that their go-to Tesco meal deal
consisted of the All Day Breakfast Sub, Onken Naked Strawberry Yogurt Pouch and a bottle of San Pellegrino Sparkling Natural Mineral Water. The Reddit user, who goes by Vented55, posted
their findings in the Tesco subreddit, sharing a second photo from the app informing them that they’re ‘1 in 10 million’ when it came to their unique meal deal preference. The rarity of
their choice sparked a moment of self-reflection as they pondered on Reddit: "Is my meal deal really that bad? Not even one person shares my meal deal." Accompanying this query,
the second image caption exclaimed: "You’re 1 in 10 million! Out of over 10 million possible combos, no one shared the same favourite Meal Deal. That’s pretty impressive! ". The
revelation has spurred a flurry of activity online, garnering 1,300 upvotes and attracting over 250 comments. A particular point of discussion amongst commenters was the selection of
sparkling water as part of the meal deal. One pointed remark stood out above the rest, with a commenter observing: "Oh so you’re one of the psychopaths somehow keeping sparkling water
on the shelves." This notion seemed to resonate widely, having received 442 upvotes, suggesting that many shared the sentiment. Another social media user weighed in on a discussion
about beverage preferences, critiquing the options by stating: "The yoghurt is the only decent thing on that list. The sub is middle of the pack and the sparkling water is psychopath
behaviour. Feels like you’re drinking bees." Sharing a personal story about their own shift to sparkling water, a third individual described: "I gave up drinking all kinds of
liquids apart from coffee and water after realising I had a crippling addiction to coke (I’m talking strictly liquids here.) After about 2 months of this I still craved the refreshing
feeling of carbonated drinks and so I tried sparkling water, and to my surprise I liked it." They went on to explain their views on why some people dislike sparkling water: "I
think the reason sparkling water tastes bad to so many is that they think fizzy and they automatically expect sugar. I’m not denying the psychopath claim, but I feel like we should be
somewhat ‘respected psychopaths’ instead of being shunned from society." Meanwhile, a different participant asserted tonic water's superiority in taste over sparkling water,
prompting another commenter to defend sparkling water with the facts: "Tonic water has sugar in it. Also the amount of quinine it contains is so low if you’d want to fight off malaria
using just tonic water, you’d have to drink roughly 25 gallons a day of tonic water." The sparkling water advocate concluded: "Also if I personally saw someone chugging tonic water
with their meal deal I’d call them a psychopath. Team sparkling water 4 lyf." Article continues below Another user weighed in on the unusual meal deal combination, stating:
"Seeing as nobody gave you a serious answer, it's a weird mix because it crosses into different demographics: * The Breakfast Sub is not the healthiest - it has sausage and bacon.
I'd expect the people who eat that to pair it with a Coke * San Pellegrino is often the favourite of healthy people (it's not more healthy than water, but for some reason
that's my association). I'd expect that to be paired with their salads They added: "Not sure about the yogurt, but maybe this specific one is more of a kids thing? Anyway, as
long as you're living your best life, don't worry about it."
