GREG MONKS, 38, WENT MISSING FROM A POPULAR PARTY RESORT IN PORTUGAL WHILE ON A NIGHT OUT WITH PALS 08:11, 04 Jun 2025 The relatives of a British man who disappeared during a stag do in
Portugal have issued an urgent appeal for locals to review their private CCTV and doorbell footage. Greg Monks went missing on Tuesday night after losing contact with friends in the
Albufeira resort in the Algarve while making his way back to their apartment on the first evening of their holiday. The 38-year-old was last spotted on CCTV in the residential district of
Cerro de Aguia, approximately four miles from the main nightlife area where he had been enjoying the evening with mates. His most recent sighting occurred between Tuesday night and the early
hours of Wednesday. Jillian Monk, Greg's sister, has now urged residents in the Cerro de Aguia region to check their personal surveillance cameras and any Ring doorbell footage they
might have. Taking to a Facebook group aimed at expatriates and tourists, Jillian has requested anyone living nearby to assist in the search for her brother, reports the Daily Record. A post
last night read: "There has still been no sightings or no updates at present! As previously state this is so unlike Greg and we are truly desperate for answers. Article continues below
"I am now seeking help from residents of the Cerro de Aguia area to please check any home cameras or doorbell footage around 2am and 5am as police believe he was in the area around
this time! "Please share this is you know anyone in the camera. If you have cameras that covers parts of the streets send me a message with your name and phone number." Portuguese
police carrying out the search have scoured local hospitals during their attempts to trace Greg. Greg, of Glasgow, reportedly checked in with his pals at the Novochoro Apartments, a tourist
resort consisting of 31 units, shortly before he went missing. The apartments are said to be just a 15-minute walk to the main strip. However, they are around four miles from Cerro de Aguia,
where Greg was last spotted—Cerro de Aguia is around the same distance from the strip. The stag do was due to fly back today after arriving on Tuesday to party in the popular sunshine spot.
Jillian first raised the alarm that Greg had not been seen in a frantic social media post on Thursday. She said: "My brother has not been seen since Tuesday evening. If you are
currently there and have any information place contact me with any info." A fundraiser has been launched to help with the search efforts. Greg's dad has reportedly cut short a
holiday in Spain to travel across the border to search for his son. Gillian McCallum, who set up the fundraiser on behalf of his distraught family, said: "Our son Greg Monks went to
Portugal for a stag do on Tuesday May 27 and on the first night back out there he never returned to his hotel and has now been missing for three days. "We are desperately seeking
Greg's safe return and need your help. "There are professional search teams out looking for Greg and the family have all flown out to try to help find him but don't know how
long their stay will be. "They are doing everything they can. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference in our efforts to bring Greg home. Thank you for your support
and prayers." Article continues below More than £12,000 has been raised to help fund the search. The Record has contacted Guarda Nacional Republicana for comment. _JOIN THE MANCHESTER
