WELL-LOVED CLOTHING STORE TOPSHOP CLOSED ITS DOORS IN 2021 BUT HAS NOW ANNOUNCED A COMEBACK 10:57, 04 Jun 2025 Topshop has announced that it will be opening standalone stores in the autumn.
The brand’s physical stores closed in 2021 following a collapse of its parent company Arcadia. The closures included Liverpool's huge Topshop store, which opened in Liverpool ONE in
2009 and encompassed a Topman, a hair salon, and a personal shopping service. Following the collapse of Arcadia, Topshop was bought by online-retailer Asos. Asos also bought Arcadia-owned,
Miss Selfridge. In an exclusive interview with Drapers, Topshop managing director Michelle Wilson confirmed that the business will be opening permanent standalone stores this year. She
explained that Topshop and Topman would return to the high street in autumn through one wholesale partner. In April, Topshop teased their return to fans with a social media post with a
caption that read: “IN AUGUST” Article continues below They also posted other cryptic messages stating “YOU IRL” and “WE’LL SEE”. They didn’t share at the time what the "August"
update would be. On May 10, Topshop hosted a pop up event in London, in a physical store. Another Instagram post teased: "Public Service Announcement: This is not a re-launch, this is
just the start." Fans of the store commented on the post saying: “Please tell me this is going to be just like the original Topshop? I want Joni jeans, blazers, Kate Moss and Alexa
Chung”. Article continues below While fans speculated the brands return to their former flagship store at 214 Oxford Street, that spot is now being occupied by an Ikea.
