U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford (R-S.C.) will take a jog around Washington, D.C.’s shuttered national monuments on Thursday afternoon in an effort to draw attention to h̶i̶m̶s̶e̶l̶f̶ the partial

government shutdown – currently in its third day. Sanford’s jog will reportedly begin at 5:30 p.m. EDT at the Lincoln Memorial. We’ll have more details as they become available … including

whether CNN’s Candy Crowley will be joining him on his jog. Personally, we doubt she shows up … Anyway, the former “Luv Gov” – whose second term as South Carolina’s chief executive was

rocked by a major sex scandal – has always been a fitness enthusiast. In fact he led a “family fitness challenge” during his first term that included a bike ride across the state. His love

of workouts has landed him in some sticky situations, though, include some embarrassment earlier this year when he had to rush to the U.S. House chamber for a vote wearing gym shorts and a

sweaty t-shirt. _UPDATE: Sanford’s office tells Yahoo! News political reporter Chris Moody that the jogging tour has been canceled due to the shooting incident at the U.S. Capitol building

earlier this afternoon._
