players and coaches toil for years and are unable to get their hands on the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy. Belichik has managed it a staggering eight times, more than any other coach or

player.  His first taste of Super Bowl glory came as the Defensive coordinator for the New York Giants in 1987. His defensive game plan from the Giants' 20–19 upset of the Buffalo Bills

in Super Bowl XXV in 1995, his seocnd Super Bowl triumph, has been placed in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Belichik became the head coach of the New England Patriots in 2000 and has won

six Super Bowl titles with the team from the Greater Boston area. MOST SUPER BOWL WINS AS HEAD COACH NFL maestro Tom Brady holds the record for the most Super Bowl victories as a player with

seven, six of which came under Belichick who holds more Super Bowl wins as head coach than anyone else. The pair were a match in heaven and the NFL world were left stunned when Brady opted

to leave the side in favour of a switch to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Back February and shortly after his retirement, Brady heaped praise on Belichick and recalled their incredible time

together at the Patriots. "I think coach Belichick and I developed an amazing relationship, really from the moment I was draft," Brady said on his “Let’s Go!” podcast. "I had

someone that really saw something in me that not a lot of other people did. "He loves the sport, he loves teaching, he loves coaching, he loves competing, and nobody's done it

better than him. And I think what a blessing for me -- there's no way I have the success I've had personally without him, and I'm very grateful for that." MOST SUPER BOWL

APPEARANCES Given how often Belichick has won the Super Bowl, it perhaps comes as no surprise that his teams have appeared in the game more times than anyone else in the sport. In fact, as

an assistant and head coach, the American has featured in the NFL’s showpiece game 12 times, with the most recent coming in 2019, which his Patriots side won 13-3 over the Los Angeles Rams.

Given his first Super Bowl appearance came back in 1987, the gap of 32 years between his debut and most recent Super Bowl is a testament to the longevity of the iconic coach. MOST SUPER BOWL

APPEARANCES AS HEAD COACH Belichick has nine Super Bowl appearances to his name as a head coach, more than any other in NFL history. As previously mentioned he won six of those games and

truly stands in a league of his own. During an interview with Forbes in 2019, Belichick shared his advice on what builds a cohesive and successful team. “Put together a group of unselfish

legacy and hopes he and his family can continue to impact sport in a profound way. “I started the Steve Belichick Scholarship Fund after my father passed away,” he said.  “Linda Holliday
