The second semi-final in the Eurovision Song Contest will be taking place this evening (Thursday, May 10) at 8pm BST (9pm CEST).

There will be 18 countries will be performing in the second semi-final but only 10 countries can make it through.

Once all the nations’ entries have sung their track, the voting lines will be thrown open for people to select the act they want to go through to the next round.

Fans in the UK can watch the second semi-final live on BBC Four this evening from 8pm.

Again Rylan Clark-Neal and Scott Mills will be hosting the programme with input from the UK’s entry SuRie.

Just like the first semi-final, the second live show will be held in the Altice Arena in Lisbon, Portugal.

Only viewers from the nations taking part in this heat can vote, however they cannot chose their own country.

Fans from France, Germany and Italy - who are from the “big five” and so exempted from the semis - can also vote in the second show

The favourite to come out on top of the second semi-final is Norway with bookmakers Betfair giving them a 6/4 chance.

While Sweden has been given odds of 9/4 to be the country to get the most votes by the end of the night.

Both nations are also in the running to win the 63rd Eurovision Song Contest overall.

Here is a list of all the acts performing in the second semi-final:

The first semi-final was on Tuesday, May 8 and saw 19 countries participating with just 10 making it through.

The 10 nations who made it through in the grand final from the first show were: Austria, Estonia, Cyprus, Lithuania, Israel, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Albania, Finland and Ireland.

The “big five” of France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the UK automatically qualify for the final because they made the biggest financial contribution to the yearly song competition.

Also, through to the final is host nation Portugal, who won the competition last year with artist Salvador Sobral.

Not only was it Portugal’s first victory but it was also the first time a Portuguese-language song had won in the history of the competition.

This year’s favourite to win Eurovision is Cyprus with their entry Eleni Foureira and the song Fuego, which means fire in Spanish.

The Eurovision Song Contest takes place on the 8, 10 and 12 May
