In a scene with Bronn (played by Jerome Flynn) and a group of girls at a local brothel, the character Eddie is mentioned, who was played by pop star Ed Sheeran.  The star appeared in Game of

Thrones season seven and was not a popular character choice.  However, his death or survival was not clarified, until now.  The girls in the brothel note “that boy Eddie” with ginger hair

had his “face burned clean off” when amongst Lannister men killed by Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Drogon. The unpopular character was seen in 2017 as a singing Lannister solider

and interacts with Arya Stark (Maisie Williams). It solves the mystery of what happened to his character.  Ed Sheeran himself spoke of wanting to be killed off after an unsuccessful cameo.

He told Buzzfeed: “It was fun being in Game of Thrones, but I definitely think they should’ve killed me off in the episode. “I reckon that probably would’ve been the redemption for people

that didn’t like it. No one wants to see me come back. I wanted to be a cameo in it, and I’ve done the cameo. I’m cool with it, though. I enjoyed it. “I know what Game of Thrones fans hoped

happened to my character. I’m sure they think my character got brutally, brutally murdered, but I think my character is still out there. I think he’s chilling.” Not, it appears, after season

one’s first episode which hints at his death. Fans spotted the reference and took to Twitter to announce their spot: “OMG. Game of Thrones mentioned Ed Sheeran’s character in the season 8

premiere during the brothel scene when the ladies discussed dragons killing Lannister soldiers.” Another amusingly added: “Trying to keep spoilers to a minimum, but the ladies talking about

“ginger Eddie” who got his face burned off in the battle and doesn’t have eyelids anymore is an hilarious payoff to Ed Sheeran’s cameo.” Game of Thrones returned to delight fans today, with

one scene in particular causing much interest.  Daenerys meets Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) for the first time as she visits Winterfell and the instant friction and battle between the two

queens made interesting viewing for fans.  A side-eye glance by Sansa typified the friction when Daenerys replies with: “Whatever they want” to Sansa’s request as to what dragons eat.  The

ending saw Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) reunited with his nemesis Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) in chilling and dramatic closing shots. It teases fans that there would be

some sort of conflict between the pair in the first reunion after Jaime pushed him fro the clifftop, paralysing him.  Fans will have to wait to find out if Bran seeks revenge for what Jaime

did to him.  _GAME OF THRONES SEASON EIGHT CONTINUES NEXT SUNDAY ON HBO AND SKY ATLANTIC ON MONDAY AY 2AM. _
