Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born at 11.40am on Friday, June 4, at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California, weighing 7lb 11oz. She was named after the Queen's family

nickname and also Harry's mother Princess Diana, who died in a car crash in 1997. But the quirky name quickly prompted a flurry of royal watchers to question why only Harry's

mother and grandmother were part of the newborn's name and not Meghan's mother Doria. However, journalist Afua Adom has since suggested the Duke and Duchess of Susses may have used

Doria's nickname for Meghan as part of Lilibet's name. She said on Good Morning Britain today: "Lilibet is such a pretty name, it's such a cute name. It is not just

about being named after the Queen. "It is a bit of a nod to Meghan's mother Doria as well, because Meghan's mother's nickname for her is flower, hence why we've got

Lili in there for Lilibet." But host Susanna Reid disagreed with this idea, as she said it was "a bit of a stretch". Ms Adom then added: "It is a bit of a stretch.

"But it's also a bit of a stretch to say that the Queen is now sitting up in bed with her egg and soldiers, blindsided and disappointed and fuming that her great grandchild is

named after her!" Her comment was a reference to a dig made earlier in the show by royal biographer Angela Levin, who called Meghan and Harry "rude" for naming their daughter

Lilibet. She said on the ITV breakfast show: "I don't think it's right, it's rude. READ MORE: ROYAL LIVE: MEGHAN & HARRY ACCUSED OF ROYAL PROTOCOL BABY BLUNDER Ms

Levin responded: "Not after what's happened, she's desperately unhappy. "Harry did mention to his grandma that he was going to name his daughter after her but I bet she

didn't know it was going to be Lilibet." The Sussexes' press secretary confirmed the happy news yesterday. She said: "Both mother and child are healthy and well, and

settling in at home. "Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. "Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honour her beloved

late grandmother, the Princess of Wales." The new baby is the Queen's 11th great-grandchild, and the first to be born since Philip's death. The couple are now living in

California and have had a troubled year with Harry's family after publicly speaking about their struggles with the Royal Family. As a result, it is not known when or if the new baby

will meet the Queen and the rest of the royals.
