TV presenter and film critic Jonathan Ross is best known for his weekend comedy chat shows where he interviews celebrity guests in his friendly, down-to-earth manner. The 59-year-old is

known as one of broadcasting’s highest earners, with the star hitting headlines in previous years after his huge salary was revealed. But what is his net worth? According to Celebrity Net

Worth, Ross has a net worth of £28 million ($35 million).  The married father of three started his career as a presenter for Channel 4, and even had his own production company called Channel

X.  However in 1995 he sold his stake in order to focus on his family life.  But though it was a profitable company at the time, Ross has said he didn’t make any money in the sale, telling

the Guardian in 1998 that he got £1 for his share, calling it "unbelievable". READ MORE: THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW IN HUGE SCHEDULE SHAKE-UP AS SHOW RETURNS TO BBC - HERE'S WHY

Jonathan took a year out after securing a new chat show on rival channel ITV, The Jonathan Ross Show, which has now had 15 series, with another series said to be in development.  In an

interview with Simon Hattenstone for the Guardian in 2011 to discuss his new ITV show, Ross opened up about his huge pay packet at the BBC.  Responding to Hattenstone asking if he was ever

shocked by how much he was paid, the star said: "No. I very much enjoyed it and I knew that was my worth to them. We took the Friday night slot, which didn't exist, and made it

upwards of four million people a week.  “The radio show was a big hit and helped change the face of Radio 2. And the film show, I think I did a very good job."  The presenter admitted

he could have earned more elsewhere, too.  “ITV and Channel 4 both offered me the same amount just to do a talk show for them, and I was offered a lot of money by one of the big commercial

radio stations to do their breakfast show for three years and shares,” the star revealed.  “I would have been on £9m the first year, then £8m a year, and I turned that down to stay with the

BBC. So I knew I hadn't extorted money out of them." Ross was made an OBE in 2005 for his services to broadcasting.  His family are also in the business. His wife Jane Goldman, who

he has been married to since 1988, has a very successful career as a screenwriter, author and producer.  Goldman co-wrote the screenplays of the two Kingsman films as well as Stardust and

The Woman in Black. Ross and Goldman now own a TV production company together, called Hotsauce TV.  Jonathan’s late mother, Martha Ross, was also an actress and radio presenter, famously

working as an extra in the early days of EastEnders until she was sacked when her other famous son, Paul Ross, leaked a Christmas storyline on his radio show.
