Zac Snyder’s answer to Marvel’s Avengers has already wrapped, with a release date set for November 2017. Fans of the DC Expanded Universe will be introduced to previously teased superheroes
like Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash. The latter had a brief cameo in Suicide Squad and now it looks like another character will cameo in the upcoming Justice League. TheWrap have reported the
following: “A member of the Green Lantern Corps will be seen in Justice League in a key sequence.” Green Lantern Corps isn’t due for release until 2020, after a Justice League sequel in
2019, but this could be the studio’s way of introducing the title character. After all, Wonder Woman is not released until next summer, but Gal Gadot’s superhero had a small, but crucial,
role to play in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice earlier this year. However, Warner Bros production president Greg Silverman has previously teased that the Green Lantern’s origin would be
explored in the second Justice League movie. He said: “[Green Lantern] is an incredible character. He's actually multiple incredible characters. He added: “There's real opportunity
there. We didn't do a great job on that first Green Lantern movie. “This is a character who deserves to be treated in the same way that Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman are being
treated now, which is with great reverence. “I guess I can say to the Green Lantern fans: if they can be patient with us, I think they'll be really happy." If Green Lantern turned
up in 2017’s Justice League, it would be quite an early tease, so it’s possible another member of the Corps might turn up instead. The Green Lantern is yet to be cast, with fans believing
he’s been held back to leave breathing space for Ryan Reynolds’ 2011 flop. The 40-year-old has since moved on to Deadpool and starts shooting the sequel next year. Speaking with Empire in
2011, Reynolds revealed he wasn’t really that interested in reprising the role. He said: “Not yet. I don’t know. If you’re gonna do comic book movies in that vein, you really have to get
them right. “I believe that Joss Whedon [Avengers] is the guy that just nails it and Christopher Nolan [The Dark Knight trilogy] obviously nails it.” Reynolds added: “So if they were gonna
do it like that, it would be an interesting thing to do. “It’s just that… working on Green Lantern, I saw how difficult it is make that concept palatable, and how confused it all can be
when you don’t really know exactly where you’re going with it or you don’t really know how to access that world properly – that world comic book fans have been accessing for decades and
falling in love with. “So at this point I have very little interest in joining that kind of world. But, you know, a great script and a good director can always turn that around.” Reynolds
certainly hasn’t closed the door on reprising the role and fans just need remember he managed to reboot Deadpool to great critical and financial success following his first turn at the role
in X-Men Origins: Wolverine – So why not Green Lantern too? _JUSTICE LEAGUE IS RELEASED IN UK CINEMAS ON NOVEMBER 17, 2017._
