Beyoncé made history at Coachella 2018 yesterday as the singer became the first woman of colour to headline the Californian festival. The superstar performed an impressive two-hour set
featuring her award-winning tracks from over the years - including Crazy in Love, Run the World Girls, and Soldier. The 36-year-old performance saw fans across the world dubbing the annual
music and arts festival as “Beychella”. As the singer tok to the stage, she asked: “Y'all ready Coachella?"(sic) The hitmaker later exclaimed: "Coachella, thank you for
allowing me to be the first black woman to headline.” The Grammy Award winner, who is one of the world’s best-selling music artists, proceeded to sing a rendition of Run the World Girls.
Donning a number of jaw-dropping outfits for the set, Beyoncé ensured that her dance routines were as incredible as her vocals. One ensemble saw the star - who has been titled “Queen Bey” by
fans over the years - sporting a show-stopping jewelled ensemble. Styled by Balmain's Olivier Rousting for her performance at the fashion-forward festival, the hitmaker sported a
sparkling leotard, cape and headdress. A picture of female empowerment, she completed the look with fishnet tights and towering high heels - as well as a black and gold cane. This morning,
Beyoncé shared a snap of the iconic outfit with her 113 million Instagram followers, which drew in over two million likes within just three hours. During the show, Beyoncé invited her
husband Jay-Z, who she wed back in 2008, to perform alongside her for their hit song Deja Vu. The pop star also surprised viewers with a long-awaited Destiny’s Child reunion as Kelly Rowland
and Michelle Williams, both 37, joined their former bandmate on stage. Singing several hits including Say My Name, Soldier, and Lose My Breath, the trio’s performance was their first since
the 2015 Stellar Awards. Clearly over the moon with the comeback, the mother-of-three told fans: “I’m so happy right now.” The songwriter also danced with her sister Solange, 31, who has
gone on to forge her own successful singing career since performing as a backup dancer for the girl group. Fans couldn’t help but gush over the singer’s Coachella headline debut, and flocked
to Twitter to express their delight. One elated supporter exclaimed: “BEYONCÉ’S COACHELLA OPENING IS ALREADY LEGENDARY AND WILL NOT BE TOPPED.” Another gushed: “Beyoncé proves yet again why
she's the greatest performer of all time. #Beychella #Coachella.” A third stated: “I feel like watching Beyoncé perform her live Coachella set has made me a better woman and I can’t
even explain why.” “BEYONCÉ WINS COACHELLA! Her performance was AMAZING and almost two hours long! She brought out Jay Z & Destiny's Child got together,”(sic) penned a fourth.
