A TRAVEL INFLUENCER HAS SHARED THE "CRAZIEST" REASON WHY TOURISTS IN BENIDORM COULD BE HIT WITH A WHOPPING FINE IF THEY'RE NOT CAREFUL WHEN CROSSING THE ROAD 12:18, 30 May

brush up on their knowledge of local traffic laws - especially in Benidorm. It turns out, it's not just drivers who can be hit with hefty fines for flouting the rules; pedestrians too
can face penalties. And now a travel influencer has highlighted a particular rule that could potentially spoil holidays in Benidorm. They've dubbed it the "craziest thing you can
get fined for." According to Spain's Traffic and Road Safety Law, pedestrians are required to use zebra crossings for their own safety and that of other road users. Ignoring this
rule could result in a fine of €100 (£84), but that's not the most expensive penalty tourists might encounter. Pedestrians who cross at a zebra crossing without waiting for the green
light could face an even steeper fine of €200 (£167), reports the Express. "Crossing the road on a red man here in Spain, well, that's a no-no," warned Harry Tokky on TikTok.
"I didn't believe it at first, but they are fining you if you cross the road on a red man. You can actually end up with a 200-euro on-the-spot fine. "So, a little friendly
advice [...] maybe avoid crossing the road on a red man, especially in front of a policeman." Harry's cautionary tale has been well received by fellow TikTok users. "This must
be why they want all your bank details and home address when you go there on holiday," one user commented. A second person chimed in with their own experience, commenting: "I did
this loads when I was here a few weeks ago," and added, "Didn't even know about this, luckily I wasn't caught." In Spain, other fines for pedestrians can hit your
wallet too, like the €100 (£84) penalty for strutting on motorways or dual carriageways, and you could even be slapped with a €200 fine for ambling on the right-hand side of the road.
LUGGAGE ESSENTIALS: If you're going on holiday this summer, then you might be worrying about what to pack - especially if you're keeping luggage light. And that means if
you're only taking a small bag to fit under the seat, you don't want to get caught out by the strict rules often issued by Ryanair and easyJet. For a product that will squeeze your
belongings in, and that will spare you from the wrath of boarding staff, then the Aerolite Underseat Cabin Bag is apparently perfect for Ryanair travel - and it's only £23.99. Article
