Gun terror as man with 'explosive on leg' fires into shopping centre

A man has died at Tesco shopping centre in Carlow, Ireland, after police were called when gunshots were overheard. It is understood that a nine-year-old child was injured during the


incident, with the alleged gunman having an explosive attached to his leg at the Tesco supermarket. It is unclear whether the child was shot or just hurt while running from the shooter. They


reportedly have non-life-threatening injuries and were brought to St Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny. Gardai said in a statement: "A white Irish adult male is deceased at the


scene. A female juvenile received treatment from paramedics following the incident but did not require hospital care. It's undetermined at this time as to how those injuries were


sustained." Speaking to the Irish Mirror, sources say a man fired several shots into the busy shop, which led to chaos as shoppers fled with panic. It also is understood Gardai believe


the man shot himself. According to sources he had suspicious items strapped to himself. The Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal team has also been requested to attend, with cops urging people


not to share footage of the allegedly incident on social media platforms or messaging apps, but instead to provide it to Gardaí at Carlow Garda Station. In a statement Gardaí said: “Gardaí


are currently at the scene of an incident at a retail premises in Carlow town. The alarm was raised shortly after 6:15pm." "The premises has been evacuated and the scene is

111. The air ambulance has also landed at the scene, with the situation understood as no longer being active. The police added: "At this time, there is no further concern for public
