named by police. Emergency services raced to the collision at Auchenlarie in Castle Douglas, Dumfries and Galloway, at 11.20am on Wednesday. The crash involved a red Suzuki Ignis and a

white Peugeot van. Crews arrived at the scene and the passenger in the car, a 76-year-old woman, was found injured. She was raced to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where she

sadly died. Police have named her as Judith Molloy. Her heartbroken family told how their lives will "never be the same" following her death. The statement, released via Police

Scotland, reads: “Judith was an adored wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and she leaves behind family and many friends whose lives will never be the same. "We will miss

her every single day." The driver and passenger of the van were taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary and have since been discharged. The driver of the car was uninjured.

Police say inquiries into the incident are ongoing. Constable Luke Bell said: “Our thoughts are with Mrs Malloy's family and friends at this difficult time. "We’ll continue to
