AS THE CORONATION STREET TINKER FAMILY ARE SET TO BE TORN APART FOLLOWING THE TRAGIC DEATH OF CRAIG TINKER, MUM BETH COULD BE SET FOR AN EMOTIONAL RETURN TO THE COBBLES 13:18, 22 May 2025

Corrie's Tinker family have experienced some significant shifts this week, notably shaped by the heart-wrenching departure of Craig. Audiences were left reeling as Coronation

Street's dedicated bobby was viciously assaulted with a baseball bat by Mick Michaelis, portrayed by Joe Layton, during Monday evening's episode. Looking back on his tenure as

Craig, actor Colson Smith said: "I've loved every single second of my 14 year stay as a resident on the greatest street in the world. I feel incredibly lucky to have grown up in,

on and around Coronation Street." The aftermath of this shocking event extends to his on-screen mother Beth, who has herself faced substantial changes following her own farewell from

the show last year. Beth Tinker arrived on the cobbles in 2011, played by Lisa George, and quickly became an integral part of the serial storyline. But she decided to leave after 13 years on

the cobblestone set. Beth's final storyline saw Kit learn she knew about his dodgy dealings, and demand she leave Manchester within a week, or he'd ruin Craig's policing

career, reports Surrey Live. Reflecting on her emotional adieu from the soap opera, Lisa said: "It was so hard and it was sad. I was really sad filming it myself because it was

gorgeous, and you see in that scene it was heartbreaking because it was everything that she wanted. It was awful." Since departing from the show, the 52-year-old star has undergone a

significant transformation, embarking on an impressive weight loss journey to combat a number of health troubles she faced. Showcasing her new svelte physique on Instagram with a medley of

photographs from her holiday, the former soap sensation expressed her sense of achievement by stating she was "feeling proud of how far I've come." Her transformation

didn't go unnoticed by former colleagues, who quickly offered their support. Sue Devaney, known for portraying Debbie Webster, exclaimed: "I'm proud of YOU!!!", while

Sally Carman, Corrie's Abi Franklin, commented: "You look great Lisa." Motivated to make changes after being diagnosed with diabetes, George opened up to the Daily Mail,

saying: "I've been through the menopause, am using a sensor so I can check my sugar levels and keep my diabetes under control and I've had a complete overhaul of my diet.

I've always eaten really healthily but with everything going on with my eyes and my diabetes I went to see a nutritionist. "I cut out so much from my diet and am a stone lighter

than I was last year. I'm loving the weight I'm at now. I went out on Friday and wore a velvet suit that was a size 10. I have not been a size 10 since I was 28!" Yet

following Wednesday night's startling development revolving around Craig, speculation is rife among viewers as to whether the actress will reprise her role in the ITV soap, perhaps for

a one-off special episode centred around a funeral. Article continues below One viewer said: "Gonna miss our Craig, hope this means your back for a while to say goodbye?", while

another user expressed: "Aww hope you're back soon, would make sense as a mother."
