Netflix has given the green light to a second season of what some viewers have dubbed 'the most confusing game show' ever, Million Dollar Secret.

The programme, which premiered on the streaming giant earlier this year, involves 12 strangers competing for a $1 million prize in a luxurious mansion.

Guardians Of The Galaxy star Peter Serafinowic hosts the show, where only one contestant is privy to the cash prize and must keep it hidden from the others to claim the hefty reward.

Upon its release, comparisons were drawn between Million Dollar Secret and BBC's popular show, The Traitors.

Despite a mixed reception and numerous complaints, Netflix confirmed the renewal of Million Dollar Secret for a second season on X, formerly known as Twitter.

One viewer described it as “the most confusing game show I have ever watched”, while others questioned how the show managed to secure a renewal.

However, not all feedback was negative, with some fans expressing their excitement for the upcoming season and praising the first.

When the initial season was announced, viewers quickly pointed out the similarities to The Traitors. One viewer speculated: “Who has a hidden million dollars.”

Another responded to their comment, enthusing: “Urg! The Traitors is soooo good! The UK and Canadian one is the best out of all the franchises.

"I started watching this one, I believe there is an OG of this show where it is a hotel and I stopped watching midway. I completely forgot about it”.

A third chimed in with: “A Traitors version of Do You Want To Be A Millionaire.”

“This is basically The Traitors on steroids, I'm here for it...,” a fourth added.

Million Dollar Secret season 1 is available to stream on Netflix. Season 2 doesn't have a release date at the moment
