Customers have been left heartbroken after a beloved fast-food chain revealed it was shutting its doors for good. Korean fried chicken favourite Chick 'n' Sours officially closed

its stores on Sunday, May 25, bringing an end to nearly a decade on the high street since its launch in 2015. The popular restaurants, located in Haggerston and Seven Dials in London, bid

farewell to in-store diners after years of serving up tasty treats. READ MORE: TESCO ANNOUNCES 7PM 'CHARGE' In a poignant Instagram post, co-founder David Wolanski explained that

the eateries had clung on for "as long as we could" before making the difficult decision to close. He wrote: "Hello, it's with mixed emotions I'm here to tell you

that we have closed our Chick 'N Sours restaurants in Seven Dials and Haggerston.", reports Birmingham Live. "Sunday night was our last day of trading. We do what we do

because we love it, fuelled by passion and a desire to provide guests with awesome food and memorable dining experiences. But that's not enough these days. "We hung in there as

long as we could but I'm afraid that we've now reached the point where operating the two restaurants just isn't viable any more and it makes no commercial sense to

continue." David continued: "The casual dining restaurant model is broken, but that's for another post. It's been an incredible journey from when Carl and I came up with

the idea of opening the best chicken shop in the world 10 years ago on the back of my scooter. "We scraped together what limited funds we had to open Haggerston and go on this wild

roller coaster of a trip. "Remember, there are so many awesome independent restaurants out there doing great things but finding it tough out there also. "We know things are tight

for everyone but they need you. Go see them and spend your money with them, as the phrase 'use it or lose it' has never been so relevant." Despite the closures, enthusiasts of

the restaurant, or those eager to try it for themselves when next in London, can still enjoy its offerings via Deliveroo or at special events where its food truck will be present. David

Wolanski and Carl Clarke initially set up shop after crossing paths at the Latitude Festival and once ran four branches at the height of their success. The restaurant chain has built a

reputation for its succulent crispy chicken, tangy sweet and sour cocktails, and a beloved favourite - the Hot Chicken Bun featuring chicken thigh, homemade pickles, slaw, and a mildly spicy

sauce. Upon the news of the shutdowns, patrons swiftly took to social media to voice their dismay. One customer expressed: "Nooo ! ! We love chick'n sours ! Please write a cook

book ! We'll support you any way we can!", showcasing fondness and commitment to the brand. Another voiced sadness: "Devastating news! My husband and I had our very first date

in your Haggerston branch just after you opened 10 years ago - fast forward 10 years and we've just had our second baby." sharing a personal milestone associated with the eatery.
