Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service has issued a statement after the "heart-breaking tragedy" at Draycote Water. Emergency Services rushed to the beauty spot on Thursday afternoon


(29 May) when a boat capsized, turning a teenage boy and his dad into the water. The youngster was pulled from the water unharmed, but his father disappeared. A thorough search followed the


incident, but the man's body was found the following day. A statement released from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service says: "We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident at

CHANGE IS ON ITS WAY "Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service had been actively supporting the emergency response, working closely with our emergency services partners. We are profoundly


grateful to everyone who has worked tirelessly, day and night, in response to this incident." Ben Brook, Chief Fire Officer at Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service, added: “I want to


express my sincere thanks to our crews and our emergency services colleagues for their commitment, professionalism, and compassion. This was an incredibly challenging incident for all


involved. Our thoughts remain with the family and loved ones affected by this heart-breaking tragedy." The man who died has not been named by police at this stage. Local Area Commander


for Rugby, Chief Inspector Angus Eagles said on Friday (30 May): “Our thoughts are very much with the man’s family at this incredibly difficult time and I would ask that their privacy


continues to be respected. “Since yesterday, an intensive search operation has been underway that has seen a range of specialist search tactics and technology being used. I don’t


underestimate the impact this tragic incident, and the large-scale search operation will have had on local people and businesses. Thank you all for your patience and understanding while our


officers worked tirelessly to find the man. “Special thanks also goes to Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service, Warwickshire Search and Rescue, West Mercia Search & Rescue, Avon Fire


& Rescue Service, West Mercia Police, and Severn Trent – all of whom have played an integral role in supporting our extensive search efforts.”
