THE FINANCE MINISTRY IS WARNING OF PHISHING EMAILS ASKING FOR CREDIT CARD DETAILS SO AS TO HELP YOU PAY YOUR TAX TAXPAYERS in France are being warned to beware of “phishing” emails
purporting to be from the tax authorities. The Finance Ministry says people have been receiving emails asking them for their credit card details, or for personal information, for purposes of
paying their tax. The ministry says it is important to realise these are fraudulent, to delete them and not to click on any links inside them. If in doubt, check with your tax office or
call the tax helpline on 08 10 46 76 87 (tel. local call cost from a landline). This year’s income tax forms will be going out from later this month to early in May, to be sent back by May
30. Internet declarations, at www.impots.gouv.fr, are also an option for people who have made at least one tax declaration before and allow for declarations in June, at dates varying by
