Luz, Portugal this week with samples of potential evidence surrounding the case being taken s earlier today. News of the latest search for Madeleine follows several investigations which have
taken place over the years for the then three-year-old who went missing from her family's holiday apartment in the Algarve in 2007. Throughout the day teams of investigators have been

HOUSES Firefighters have also been identified pumping water out of a well, while radar devices have been said to be used in the search to scan 15ft down in the area. Article continues below
In the most recent update, diggers have been employed in the investigation to continue the search further, with rubble being moved inside an abandoned building deep within the police cordon,
according to the Independent. This search for Madeleine could the largest since the primary investigation into her disappearance was closed in 2008. Wells, ruins, and water storage tanks on
21 plots of privately-owned land are allegedly the focus of the search, the Mirror said. Kate and Gerry McCann will not be publicly commenting on the search while the police investigation
is active, staff at the Find Madeleine Campaign told the Express. Search teams are still scouring the area at this moment, with hedge trimmers reportedly used by officers around buildings in

determine anything found is of significance, the Mirror added. The time police resumed searches for Madeleine was in May 2023, with three police forces investigating a dam and reservoir
around 30 miles from the holiday resort Madeleine was in. Article continues below Christian Brueckner, the prime suspect in the case, is in jail for raping a 72-year-old woman in Praia da
Luz in 2005. Mr Brueckner is due to be released from prison in September, if no other charges are brought against him.
