COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School varsity boys soccer team rallied from an early 2-0 deficit, but gave up a late goal and fell at home to Kalamazoo Central 3-2 in their
season opener Wednesday night.
After getting shutout in the first half, the Cardinals got second half goals from Nabil Saied and Ghaith Musa, both assisted by Arif Ahmed.
Kalamazoo Central got the game winning goal off a corner kick with 2:11 to play.
Trevor Hensinger and Hamid Abdulla shared time in goal, with Abdulla making two second half saves.
Coldwater will play Mattawan and Portage Central at the Justin Bailey Memorial Tournament in Portage Saturday.
The Coldwater JV team beat Kalamazoo Central 4-0, with goals from Austin Accardi, Liam Clark, Samuel Pernia, and Yahya Umari. Francisco Ramos had five saves in goal.
