I have lived minutes away from a hidden food van for nearly a year and half but after visiting this week, I regret not going sooner. TT's Grill opened on a quiet street in Ely in

Cardiff in December 2023 and after passing the sign leading me to the food van for so long I decided it was time I tried it out. TT's Grill have an extensive menu of classic grilled

meats, burgers, rice boxes, loaded fries and desserts all served from a small van and enjoyed in an aesthetic outdoor garden area. Just a bus ride away from Cardiff city centre, the food van

is tucked away on Ty-Cefn Road near the bottom of Grand Avenue in Ely. _Never miss a Cardiff story by __signing up to our daily newsletter here_ The street is an unassuming residential road

until you pass the grill to find a stunning nook with a delicious smell enticing you in. Whilst it was a sunny day so I could've sat on the table in the sun but I was happy that there

were also sheltered seating in case it rained as well as heaters for colder days and in the evenings. I was immediately welcomed by the staff who were really friendly and knowledgeable about

the different food options. It had the feeling of a family establishment and I could see that everyone was passionate about the grill and wanted me to enjoy my experience there. With so

many items on the menu and it all sounding so delicious I opted for one of the box meals they have, allowing you to try multiple items on the menu. They have three box meals on offer, I

chose box three that came with onion rings, TT's fries topped with TT's steak, a grilled chicken burger and a drink for £15. All of the food is prepared fresh in the morning which

was obvious when I took my first bite. The grilled chicken burger was served in a soft brioche bun and I chose lettuce and spicy mayo to top the the succulent chicken, which was cooked

perfectly. The skin-on fries were topped with TT's seasoning making it flavourful and topped with TT's steak that tasted like quality beef, cooked to my preference. I also tried

the minted lamb chops with rice (£11), which is something you don't often see on a food van, so I was excited to see it on the menu. The lamb was slightly minted so not too overpowering

and you could tell it was fresh off the grill. It was cooked beautifully, juicy and tender - just how you'd want it to be. As someone with a sweet tooth, I was impressed with the

number of dessert options on the menu as it's not often that a smaller restaurant has that many. You can choose from brownies, waffles, pancakes, cinnamon rolls and a selection of

cheesecake jars. I opted for the cheesecake jar which was a great choice as a lighter dessert option with a creamy filling, crunchy biscuit layers and packed with caramel flavour. Overall I

really enjoyed the food as well as the overall vibe of TT's Grill. I got chatting to some of the other customers who lived locally also and have been going to the grill often since it

opened. The only danger for me is that I live so close so I predict that I will be going there more often than I probably should.
