Crash closed major route into cardiff

A major route into Cardiff was closed due to a collision on Wednesday morning (May 21). Motorists were asked to avoid the A470 near Coryton due to an accident reported shortly before midday.


The collision occurred on the A470 Northern Avenue at the M4 J32 Coryton Interchange on the southbound side, which was closed to traffic with motorists being diverted off the road via the


slip road at Coryton. The northbound side was also closed for a short time to assist with recovery. All restrictions were lifted at around 12.35pm. There was heavy traffic on the A470, with


queues building back to the Taffs Well and Nantgarw exits. A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "South Wales Police was called at around 11.10am today (Wednesday May 21) to
