the moment. The beloved talent show has returned on ITV for its 18th series, bringing a new batch of eager contestants to the stage, all vying for a spot at the Royal Variety Performance. In


the episode aired on Saturday (March 8), viewers were introduced to 41-year-old music teacher John Pierce, who expressed his aspiration to transition into a full-time singing career.


"When I became a dad, I put my dreams and ambitions on hold to provide for the family, but I feel now is the right time to show my kids and the students I teach that it's never too

after his daughter had once confided her own "dream" of seeing him perform on the show, reports the Express. "We genuinely are rooting for you," encouraged Simon as John


positioned himself to commence his performance. Yet, when John began to sing, nerves got the better of him, prompting Simon to suggest, "Hang on, John. I think we should start this


again," while fellow judge Amanda Holden advised him to "shake it out." Simon silently wished for John to "bring it up a gear," and he did not disappoint. He


delivered a powerful operatic rendition of Radiohead's classic "Creep" from 1992, which sent the audience into a frenzy and earned the judges' acclaim. "I felt quite


emotional," Simon subsequently confessed. "You're a teacher, you're a dad. Your voice nearly broke at the beginning, the first time around, but these are, I think, our


favourite kind of auditions where you don't know where this is going." "John, you just broke me then at the end. I couldn't stop thinking about your daughter and how
