A SPANISH COURT HAS SENTENCED FORMER REALITY TV STAR JAMES ARGENT TO A SIX-MONTH SUSPENDED JAIL TERM AND A TWO-YEAR RESTRAINING ORDER AFTER HE ADMITTED TO SHOVING HIS GIRLFRIEND, NICOLINE

ARTURSSON 13:20, 20 May 2025 Former TOWIE star, James Argent, has been handed a six-month suspended prison sentence and a two-year restraining order by a Spanish court after a violent

confrontation with his girlfriend, Nicoline Artursson, during a holiday in Spain. Argent pleaded guilty to shoving Ms Artursson, which resulted in visible injuries to her body. Eyewitnesses

described a chaotic scene at the holiday property, claiming Argent was seen tossing clothes from a balcony before storming out with a packed bag in hand. The situation reportedly left Ms

Artursson visibly shaken and injured. "She was crying a lot... she looked extremely distressed and nervous," a source told The Mirror. They added: "She told me, 'I'm

in total shock…my life with Arg was so happy before this. I can't believe what's happened...we planned to have a family.'" Authorities reported to the scene just before

midnight, however by the time police and Ms Artursson's mother arrived, Argent had already left the property. _DON’T MISS A COURT REPORT BY SIGNING UP__ __TO OUR CRIME NEWSLETTER HERE_

Ms Artursson sustained cuts and bruises to her neck, arm, hand, and leg. A police report detailed several injuries, including bruises to her neck and right forearm, along with abrasions on

her right arm, hand, and leg. A prosecutor stated in the written document, "The injured woman suffered several bruises to her neck, a bruise to her right forearm, several abrasions to

her right arm, and abrasions to her right hand and on her right leg." The prosecutor confirmed that Ms Artursson received medical assistance, and the injuries healed within seven days.

Article continues below As part of the court's decision, it's believed Argent may now be required to complete a ten-week domestic violence rehabilitation program in Spain. The

course reportedly includes hearing first-hand accounts from survivors of abuse, reports The Mirror. On Thursday, the television personality spoke out for the first time since the verdict was

handed down. In a public statement, he said: "I haven't relapsed. I am still three years and four months clean and sober. I am devastated by what's happened." Spanish

authorities confirmed that Argent had been arrested on suspicion of "an alleged crime of domestic violence." He was later brought before Fuengirola's Court of Violence Against

Women, where he received a suspended sentence for a gender-based violence offense. Argent has since resurfaced on social media, appearing at a formal charity event in London, accompanied by

a friend. He shared a photo from the evening, writing: "It was an honour to perform for The Wickers Charity raising over £100,000. So proud of @brogangarritsmith for all her hard

work." Wearing a classic black tuxedo and bow tie, Argent seemed in high spirits as he smiled for photos at the upscale London event. He later joined The Arg Band on stage, performing

for guests at the Wickers Charity Ball—an evening focused on raising funds to fight knife crime in the city. A source close to Argent and his partner Ms Artursson told the Sun: "James

should be ashamed of himself. He is acting like nothing happened and seems to be trying to brush over this. What he did was serious. "People who knew them as a couple were so shocked by

what had happened but now to see James smiling and playing up to the cameras. It feels shameless." Officials have not indicated that Argent was under the influence of drugs or alcohol

at the time of the incident. Having publicly battled cocaine addiction in the past, he has denied any relapse, reiterating his sobriety in his recent comments. Insiders suggest the swift

court proceedings following his arrest are a likely sign that he was sober when the altercation occurred. Andalucia's High Court of Justice said last Tuesday: "The matter was

resolved in Fuengirola's Court of Violence Against Women. There was a plea agreement on May 5 and a trial the same day. In trials of this kind it is the prosecutor who suggests a

conviction after negotiating with the defence. It implies that the defendant acknowledges the facts and admits the penalty. "The judgment is now final having been accepted. It consists

of a sentence of six months in prison for the commission of a crime of mistreatment in the ambit of gender violence. It also implies a prohibition on approaching and communicating with the

victim for a period of two years. The convicted person will not enter prison as he had no criminal record in Spain. Article continues below "For this reason, the sentence is suspended

but on condition that, over a period of two years he does not approach or communicate with the victim and has to carry out a re-socialization course in the field of gender violence. The

suspension would be revoked if it fails to comply with the measures imposed. The sentence will be sent to a criminal court that will be responsible for its execution and compliance with the

measures implicit therein." IF YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW IS AFFECTED BY DOMESTIC ABUSE VISIT THE LIVE FEAR FREE WEBSITE OR CALL THE HELPLINE ON 0808 80 10 800. NATALIE ALSO RECOMMENDED
