Dr. Cara Pellegrini is the Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at San Francisco VA Health Care System, with a focus in atrial fibrillation and atypical atrial arrhythmias. She is
particularly interested in the impact of cardiovascular risk factor modification on atrial fibrillation. Additional interests include POTS/IST and medical education and leadership. She is a
2017 UCSF CORO Leadership Collaborative graduate. Dr. Pellegrini is an Associate Program Director for the UCSF Cardiology Fellowship and the VA Site Director for the Cardiac
Electrophysiology Fellowship. She is very involved with medical education, with a particular focus on the teaching of ECG interpretation. She is active with the Heart Rhythm Society, having
served on Guideline Committees and Scientific Sessions Planning Committees. With a medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, she completed her internal medicine residency at
Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as well as a cardiology fellowship and cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. To read more about her
