VA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that everyone six months and older get a flu shot yearly. The flu shot is the best way to slow the spread of the flu

from person to person. Seasonal flu disease usually peaks between December and March most years. Vaccination is still beneficial if influenza viruses are circulating, so it is not too late

to vaccinate. Now is a great time to make sure that you’re protected against flu for the rest of the season. Veterans enrolled in VA health care can get a free flu shot by visiting their

nearest VA health care facility. Flu and COVID vaccines are still available in primary care for walk-ins and during scheduled appointments at the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center as well as

all our VA Community clinics. We recommend that Veterans contact their community clinic for current availability.
