Dr. Solomon Williams was selected as Deputy Chief of Staff in February 2019. In this capacity, he serves as a member of the senior leadership team with primary oversight of medical care


provided at the Austin Outpatient Clinic (OPC). He also has executive oversight of Mental Health & Behavioral Medicine (MH&BM), Dental, Compensation and Pension, Environmental


Health, Imaging, Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, and Anesthesia Services. Dr. Williams was a primary care and occupational medicine physician for a multi-national petroleum prospecting


firm for several years prior to completing his residency in psychiatry at St. Elizabeth's/Department of Health Services program in Washington D.C., and a fellowship in geriatric


psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine. He is board certified in general psychiatry. Dr. Williams joined CTVHCS as a staff general adult and geriatric psychiatrist in July 2004. He soon


became involved in systems redesign processes in line with CTVHCS’ quest to improve quality of care. His passion for systems and organizational change led to the assignment of progressive


leadership roles, including Chief of Outpatient Mental Health programs and Acting Chief of Psychiatry. In 2010, Dr. Williams was appointed Associate Chief of Staff for MH&BM. Dr.


Williams has completed multiple leadership trainings, including the Health Leadership Development Program (HCLDP) and is a graduate of the Harvard-Kennedy Senior Executive Fellows Program.
