Dr. Kristin Rizzo is from northwest Florida, where she attended Florida State University and achieved a bachelor’s degree in English Literature in 2003. Dr. Kristin Rizzo then attended


Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, graduating in 2007 with her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Biological


Sciences. After completing her residency at Central Alabama Veterans’ Health Care System, she worked as a staff podiatric surgeon, residency program attending, and program director in the


Orlando VA Health Care System. She came to the Atlanta VA as Residency Program Director in 2021. She also serves as Assistant Section Chief of podiatry. Dr. Rizzo is certified by the


American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) and American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM). She represents both ABFAS and ABPM as a residency training program site evaluator for the


Council on Podiatric Medical Education. She is also certified in Wound Care by the Council on Medical Education and Testing (CMET). She is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle


Surgeons and the American Professional Wound Care Association. She currently represents Region 5 on AACPM’s Council of Teaching Hospitals. In her free time, Dr. Rizzo loves spending time


with her husband, son, and dog, as well as traveling, reading, and yoga.
