Governments have changed but lawlessness continues to thrive in Uttar Pradesh. In another atrocious act, a rape survivor was attacked with acid for the fifth time on Saturday in Uttar

Pradesh. Despite tight security, the 35-year-old rape and acid attack survivor was attacked with acid between 8 pm and 9 pm, according to media reports. The victim had stepped out of her

hostel to get some water in Aliganj area of Lucknow when the incident took place. The woman who works at a Lucknow cafe run by acid survivors was attacked in January by two men, who poured

acid down her throat when she was on a train from Rae Bareli to Lucknow. She was visited by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in March to give her a Rs 1 lakh compensation. The two accused were

later arrested. After the latest attack, she has injuries the right side of her face and she is in traumatised, said the police promising to take strict action in the case. The victim, a

mother of two, was allegedly gang-raped in her native village in 2008 and two people were arrested in the case. The first acid attack took place in 2011 followed by other serious attacks

again the same year, twice in 2012 and another in 2013. The family of the woman alleged that these acid attacks are being carried out by the people responsible for gang raping their

daughter.  FIR hasn’t been registered because the police are reportedly waiting for a complaint from the family. ALSO READ: VERBALLY IMPAIRED MINOR ALLEGEDLY RAPED BY RELATIVE
