Kate Fielding and Justin Fris and Staff ReportersThe West Australian Tributes are pouring in for a 20-year-old Harvey man who died after collapsing at football training last night in the
South West town. Lachlan “Lockie” Hernaman was taken to Harvey Hospital just before 7pm, but it is believed he never regained consciousness. The tragedy has sent shock waves rippling through
the football and wider South West communities. Hundreds of tributes flowed onto social media this morning describing the young footballer as selfless and caring. The Harvey Bulls Football
Club released a statement saying the club was deeply saddened by Hernaman’s death. “The club offers its deepest condolences and sympathies to Lockie’s family, friends and teammates and is
working with the West Australian Country Football League and West Australian Football Commission to offer support and counselling services,” the club said. “A decision on whether our game
will go ahead this weekend will be communicated as soon as possible.” The West Australian Football Commission and WA Country Football League are offering support and counselling services to
Lachlan’s club, teammates, family and friends. “Our thoughts are with all of them and we pass on our sincere sympathies,” the WAFC said. It is understood Hernaman had returned from a family
holiday in Melbourne yesterday. Police have confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner. The Harvey Bulls Football Club is set to
meet tonight to determine whether they will go ahead with Saturday’s game against Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault. GET THE LATEST NEWS FROM THEWEST.COM.AU IN YOUR INBOX. Sign up for our emails
