BETHANY HIATTThe West Australian Jorgi wants to know what astronauts eat, Guy wonders how their blood flows if they cut themselves, Jaxon is curious about life on other planets and Patrick
asks what caused the Big Bang? The children, from the tiny Wheatbelt town of Dumbleyung, were among 21 Year 5, 6 and 7 students given a rare chance to talk to an astronaut orbiting the Earth
in the International Space Station. Dumbleyung Primary is the first WA school to link up with the space station as part of a NASA-sponsored educational program. Principal Kathy Pangler said
she had responded to a small advert buried in the Education Department's newspaper School Matters but had not expected to hear anything for months. Then a school in Europe pulled out,
which gave Dumbleyung just a few weeks to prepare for the 10-minute chat on Thursday night. GET THE LATEST NEWS FROM THEWEST.COM.AU IN YOUR INBOX. Sign up for our emails
