The accused in the six-year-old girl rape case in Delhi's Ranjit Nagar area has been arrested from Haryana, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Shweta Chauhan said on Sunday, 24
October. The accused has been identified as Suraj, 20, a resident of Raghubir Nagar and works as a utensil vendor, she said. He was arrested from Kalanaur in Haryana, as reported by ANI.

CCTV footage from the area showed the accused Suraj with the minor survivor. In the footage, she was seen walking behind him from the market, _NDTV_ reported. He was absconding after
committing the crime, according to ANI. According to the girl's family, when she came back home she was bleeding and was taken to the hospital, where doctors informed that she was
raped. The minor's father is a daily-wage worker. Speaking to ANI, the DCP (Central) said that he had earlier too committed such a crime and a First Information Report (FIR) has been
registered against him at the Khayala police station. > "In the CCTV footage, he could be seen trying to lure other children > too but they didn't leave with him," she
said. It was difficult to ascertain his identity based on the photo and police had a breakthrough when he was identified, but he escaped when he came to know cops were after him. He was
later arrested from Haryana, Chauhan said. Police had formed seven-eight teams to nab the accused, she said, adding that the condition of the girl is stable now. > Accused Suraj is
