Delhi police files fir against aap’s kumar vishwas for molestation

The Delhi police informed a court on Thursday that an FIR has been lodged on a complaint against AAP leader Kumar Vishwas. The complaint was lodged by a party volunteer alleging sexual


harassment and insulting her modesty. The FIR was registered at Sarojini Nagar Police Station following directions from Metropolitan Magistrate Pankaj Sharma. The Magistrate had observed on


Wednesday that the accused made “sexually coloured” remarks and made advances towards the complainant which required police investigation. In its compliance report, the police said the case


was registered on Wednesday, hours after the court order. As per the report, police has lodged the FIR for the alleged offences under sections,  354A – Sexual harassment 509 – Word, gesture


or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman WHAT THE FIR SAYS * The complainant has accused Vishwas of making sexually coloured remarks. * He made advances towards her, alleging that he


was trying to exploit her physically. * Vishwas had made advances towards her several times in 2014 and 2015. The court had ordered lodging of the FIR on the plea of the AAP volunteer,


while giving liberty to police to arrest the political leader if required during the probe. It had further said, the investigation shall remain uninfluenced and the arrest will be made when


required. The court had on 24 February reserved its order on the complaint in which the complainant claimed she had approached the police but no action was taken against the leader. In its


status report filed before the court earlier, Delhi police had said that during its probe, nothing was found to substantiate the allegations. The court had on 21 December last year, asked


the police to file a status report as to whether any FIR has been registered on the complaint.
