The News Minute| December 26, 2014|With the campaign in the Sri Lankan Presidential elections heating up and incumbent President Mahinda Rajapaksa launching an all out fight to retain the
presidency, reports suggest that in a bid to spruce up his social media presence, the President has roped in an Indian expert. The Hindu reports that Arvind Gupta, BJP convenor and national
head, information and technology is one among those roped in to assist Rajapaksa. The paper quoted a top source in the President’s office saying that though Gupta’s name could not be
confirmed, there were Indians helping the President’s campaign.Arvind Gupta, however has denied his role and said, “I am very disturbed by these reports and deny the same.â€If the
reports are indeed true, then it could ruffle some feathers in Tamil Nadu as Gupta was one of the main people behind Narendra Modi’s election campaign on social media and the same person
extending support to Rajapaksa will be seen as tacit endorsement.TweetFollow @thenewsminute
