This Friday morning, the Paris metro is strongly disrupted. Indeed, the line 6 is not running because of a right of withdrawal exercised by the drivers at the call of the FO RATP union. This
action had been announced the day before, and there is currently"no forecast of the time of resumption for the moment", as indicated by the Twitter account of the line.
The FO RATP union is denouncing the custody of a line 6driver involvedin the fatal accident that occurred last Saturday at Bel Air station. A woman tragically lost her life after her jacket
got stuck in the metro doors. The driver is to be presented to a judge today. In a statement, FO-RATP's traction division said, "The drivers' union cannot tolerate that our colleague, who
did his job, be treated like a criminal and spend the night at the depot."
This situation also impacts other lines of the Paris metro. Indeed, we note that traffic is heavily disrupted on lines 5 and 9. RATP says it is"mobilized to ensure the best possible offer to
passengers in these conditions."
It is therefore important to plan alternatives for getting around Paris today, as it is not yet known when the situation will return to normal. One can consider using bus routes,
self-service bicycles or electric scooters to avoid disruptions. It is also recommended to follow the information in real time on social networks and the RATP website to know the evolution
of the situation.
