PUBLISHED ON August 3rd, 2016 The World Sailing Speed Record Council has ratified the establishment of a new transatlantic monohull world record set by the 100-foot Comanche owned by Jim
Clark and Kristy Hinze Clark (USA). Sailed by skipper Casey Smith (USA), navigator Stan Honey (USA) and 15 crew on July 22-28, the Comanche team completed the 2880 nm course in 5 days, 14
hours, 21 minutes, and 25 seconds (21.44 knots). The previous record of 6d 17h 52m 39s was set in October 2003 by Robert Miller’s 139-foot Mari-Cha IV (GBR). The WSSRC was established by the
