From models and musicians to actors and athletes, Taylor Swift‘s #squad is ever-growing – not that everyone’s necessarily interested in joining. Swift and her gaggle of A-list girlfriends
bake together, observe holidays together and even film award-winning music videos together, all while documenting (and causing #squadFOMO) on Instagram. Here’s a look at who’s in, who
_really_ wants to be in and who (respectfully) expressed disinterest. WHO ISN’T INTERESTED In a recent _New York Times_ interview, MILEY CYRUS revealed she’d rather spend her time with
people living “real lives.” “I’m not trying to be in the squad,” Cyrus told the newspaper. “None of my friends are famous and not because of any other reason than I just like real people who
are living real lives, because I’m inspired by them.” Cyrus isn’t the only star staying out of Swift’s crew: IAN MCKELLEN politely declined a direct invite from the “Wildest Dreams” singer.
In July, the actor’s pal Patrick Stewart took to Twitter, asking if he and McKellen could join Swift’s squad after performing dramatic readings of two of her hits on NPR, a request Swift
immediately granted. But, it turns out McKellan had some history with the chart-topper – and actually lost living quarters because of her! When asked by the U.K.’s Gay Star News about
joining Swift’s group, he said: “I’m not. When I was living in Peter Jackson’s apartment in New York, Taylor Swift bought it while I was there, and I was thrown out before I wanted to leave!
That hardly puts me in Taylor Swift’s team, does it?” The actor added there’s no bad blood, though, telling the LGBT site, “She bought it, she had every right to – I was just lodging there
for free! She did ask me to appear with Patrick Stewart at her show in L.A., but I had something else to do that night.” WHO’S EYEING AN INVITE While introducing the Simple Minds’
performance of “Don’t You Forget About me” at the Billboard Music Awards in May, MOLLY RINGWALD made a very public plea to get in on Swift’s gang. “Thirty years ago I was part of a club that
made history,” _The Breakfast Club_ star said onstage laughing. “But now can I be in Taylor’s club, please? Can I be in your club?!” (For the record, Ringwald may have already joined! She
and Swift danced and even snapped a selfie together at the awards show.) WHO’S IN Swift’s squad grows every night she takes the stage for her 1989 World Tour. But the star still has a
tight-knit roster of ride-or-dies. SELENA GOMEZ, who launched her career around the same time as Swift, has said, “I can count on one hand the people I could call and who would be there for
me, [and] Taylor is one of the greatest people.” Then there’s former Victoria’s Secret Angel KARLIE KLOSS, who spends so much time with her BFF
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/taylor-swift-1989-cover-story-20140908she has her own room in Swift’s Manhattan apartment. Oh, and then there’s all the pals – LILY ALDRIDGE,
ZENDAYA, HAYLEY WILLIAMS, GIGI HADID, ELLIE GOULDING, LENA DUNHAM, SERAYAH, JESSICA ALBA, MARTHA HUNT, ELLEN POMPEO, MARISKA HARGITAY, CARA DELEVINGNE, CINDY CRAWFORD, et al. – she included
in her epic “Bad Blood” music video.
