Poop for beer: port chester group issues unique health challenge

Port Chester, NY— The Colon Cancer Foundation is asking for what would be unthinkable for nearly any other organization. The Port Chester-based non-profit is asking the public to send poop

in exchange for free beer. While this unique inititive might at first seem absurd, organizers say the reasons behind the awareness campaign are deadly serious. "This is us, arms in the

air shouting from the rooftops that colorectal cancers are no longer simply an old person’s disease," Colon Cancer Foundation President Cindy Borassi explains. "The fight against

the second-leading cause of cancer death among U.S. men and women is serious and sometimes, the best way to engage people is with a little humor." Rather than mailing thier bowel

movements directly to the Colon Cancer Foundation offices, the public is asked to instead send stool samples to a lab where the specimens can be analyzed for early warning signs of disease.

Participants who sign-up online before March 7th will then have the chance to"exchange" the mailed-in sample for a limited edition beer - not available in stores. Six-packs of the

exlusive Sour Me Unicorn Farts glittered sour ale "crafted with fruity cereal, a trio of fruits, edible glitter and graham cracker" from DuClaw Brewing Company will then be

provided for registered participants who complete the one-of-a-kind health challenge. The beers will sport colorful "Thanks for Giving a [rainbow poop emoji]" labels with a blue

star for colorectal cancer awareness and might best be saved for a special occasion or extended family gathering. Participants who register before Sunday, March 2 will have a chance to be

among 100 entrants who will be able to join the contest free of charge. An additional 300 participants will be able to join the fun by making an $85 donation to the registered

non-profit's cause. The rainbow-bedazzled beers will arrive at registered partcipants' doors via an agreement with CraftShack. More importanly, results of the colorectal screenings
